Objective – To be the best I can be
in the Pest Control Industry.
Experience – Self employed since
August 1990. Owner and Founder of MASTERGREEN & NoMoPest.com in
Winter Park, Florida...a full service Pest Control Company. I sold
my former company, MASTERGREEN, to Tru-Green/Terminex in October of
2002. I obtained over 2000 active customers, employed 24 full
time employees, ran 18 trucks and was a former Regional Director for
the FPMA
(Florida Pest Management
Association).
I started my career in Pest Control in 1984 working for Chuck
Steinmetz, owner of Middleton Pest Control here in Orlando. I went
on to work for Rick and Roger Lewis, owners of Lewis-Cobb Pest
Control. From there, I went to work for Harvey Massey, owner of
Massey Services and helped start their GreenUp Lawn Care division.
Anyone of these great men will vouch for my extraordinary sales and
customer service skills if you should contact them. I am State Certified in
General Household Pests, Lawn & Ornamental Pests & Termite
Control. I believe
I was trained by the very best in our industry today. I have
started another company called NoMoPest.com which
I currently own and operate.
Education – In April 1983, I
graduated with a Bachelors of Arts & Sciences degree from the
University of Central Florida. I minored in four colleges; Business
Administration, Organizational Communication, Behavioral Science and
Humanities. I attended and graduated from Edgewater High School in
Orlando, FL in 1970. All of my education, from preschool on up, took
place in Central Florida. In other words, I was born and raised in
Central Florida - a true native. I was born in
1952.
Other
Skills/Information – I am an excellent orator
and writer who is proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and
Power Point as well as other computer programs and skills. I know
what it takes to manage a company in terms of healthy growth while
maintaining a high profit margin. I know most of our industry
suppliers (vendors) and know how to negotiate bottom line in
pricing. I have good leadership skills and know how to train and
lead new and existing employees to a successful career. I believe I
have a good reputation with my customers (past and present)
and all of my peers in the industry. God gave me a large
measure of faith to accomplish great things for His glory. No
challenge is too great with God’s helping hand. It is important that
I follow God's will for my life discribed in the
Bible with the fullest measure of faith He has given
me.
Charitable
Organizations – Formerly active in the
Orlando Jaycees, Church Missions, Church Choirs and
First Step Mentoring Ministry for fatherless Afro-American
boys. I am currently active in a Nondenominational Church in
Orlando, FL. I am a firm believer in being involved in the community
by giving back our time, talents and treasures for the purpose of
making our community a better place to
live.
Military
Service – U.S. Navy from 1971 to
1975. I was trained in communications as a Radioman. Most of my tour
of duty was working for the Chief of Naval Personnel in Arlington,
VA. I obtained E-4 rank and was honorably discharged in August 1975.
I am considered a Viet Nam Vet. The GI Bill enabled me to pay for my
college education.
